Dubai Tram opening on 11 November 2014

Dubai Tram, the region’s first tramway system, begins operations on November 11.

The RTA Tram route map is shown below so that you can easily see the Dubai Tram stations that will be operational.

“Dubai Tram will truly change the way people spend their weekdays and weekends. It will allow people freedom to enjoy a day out without the stress of parking or traffic. The trams will make going out easier for people of Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Beach Residence as well as Al Sufouh,” said Mattar Al Tayer, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency.
The trams also connect with busy areas like Dubai Media City and Knowledge Village, while also linking with Palm Jumeirah’s Monorail, providing onward access for its residents to the Dubai Metro. The Metro is linked with the tramway at Dubai Marina and JLT stations.

The Dubai Tram tickets are the same that are available for the Dubai Metro. The price that you pay depends on how many zones you travel through. You can use your Nol card to pay for the Dubai Tram and other methods of public transport in Dubai. If you don’t have a Nol card you can get hold of one at any of the tram or Metro stations, bus stations or RTA offices and also at many other locations including supermarkets.
