Dubai Municipality is finalizing a tender for detail designs for a Dh30 billion project on Dubai-Al Ain road the 'Desert Rose'.
The Desert Rose City will be a sustainable city covering 4,000 hectare of land and offering affordable living for expatriates and produces 200 megawatts of electricity using solar panels on the rooftops of homes and other buildings.
It will have an eco-park to generate energy from waste.The project’s concept design has been completed, followed by detailed designs. Dubai government has already given a go-ahead to the project.
The project will be implemented progressively, complying with the emirate’s green building code and have eco-friendly solutions like green roofs and purify the air from pollutants.
The project will host 10,000 affordable homes for expatriates that will be located at the heart of the development close to the city centre. In addition to these, there will be 20,000 plots for the development of luxury homes for the UAE nationals.
