No 'White Coats' in Public places to prevent infection, The Ministry of Health.


The Ministry of Health on Saturday said it has been observed that many medical practitioners and students were seen wearing the coats in markets and mosques.

“Studies have shown that wearing the coats in public places increase the chances of spread of germs,” said Dr Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing. The studies in samples taken from coats, especially the sleeves and pockets, a large number of germs were found. A number of countries have banned practitioners and medical students from leaving their workplaces with the coats as part of infection control measures.
