The world’s first ‘live’ doll is coming to the UAE.
As local toy stores prepare for the grand arrival of “My friend Cayla”, the smart interactive doll has ensured children in the UAE are eagerly waiting for her. Once the internet-enabled Cayla is here next month, they can have real conversations with her as she can understand almost anything they say by using speech-to-text-technology.
A spokesman for Hamley’s toy store said: “Cayla works by using Bluetooth via smartphone or tablet to connect herself to WiFi. When we speak to her, Cayla uses the recognition voice programme from Google to find an answer. Little girls will be able to ask questions, discover her personality and even play games with her. With her glibness she will become their best friend very quickly.”
Cayla can be given any name and her language changed anytime.”
The doll manufactured by UK-based Vivid and will cost Dh399.
